OK, OK, OK, Because Big A l's List has grown so much you have been asking for a faster way to identify what is going on in your state! There were many suggestions, but most meant separation which would mean jumping around to have a flow of dates. Even with the poor Economy most of us travel to the adjoining States. What I did do was a color code for the four highest volume States , Ohio (yellow), Pennsylvania (green), Indiana (blue) and Michigan (tan). I hope that makes it better for you.
Two great events this weekend, Best of Show will be having an open house on Saturday with a Cruise-In on Sunday at their new facility called the “Mentor Museum of Speed” on Tyler Rd. and stop over at the Hutter Performance Open house & Display in Chardon on Rt. 6 and see what they can do for you on Saturday. Wow, did Painesville’s new/old Friday night Cruise-In start off with a bang or what? There were cars Bumper to Bumper all over the Square and down the side street! It looks like the Gear-Heads remembered their Roots after all! Roy Mohr was showing me his photo album from 1980 with his 58 Chevy sitting in front of the Courthouse when his son Ryan (the Pin striper) pulled in with it. Talk about Deja-Vu.
Thompson Raceway Park is putting on a Gasser Magazine Nostalgia Gasser Reunion & Car Show this coming weekend on June 5, 6 & 7. Some of the Racing Nations Big Names like Barb Hamilton, A l Goodman, Gene Swartz, Rocky Perone and Lou Novotny will be present to visit with and talk to. Lou will be bringing some Historical Trophy’s from the past to share and as an extra, there will be about 30 vehicles from the famed “409” Club! With the passing of Memorial Day Weekend a lot of thoughts came to my mind. First and Foremost, Remembering our troops and “Thank” them for all that they have done for us. They have all volunteered to defend OUR Country so that we have the right to live as we do. They have chosen to risk their lives in a foreign land so that our children are safe here at home.
