How Do You Find the Official Download Source Safely?

Whenever I search emulator APKs online, dozens of websites appear claiming to be the official source, but honestly many of them look suspicious or overloaded with ads and redirects.

This becomes especially risky with emulator apps because modified APK files can cause serious problems or hidden malware issues.

A few things I’d like advice about:

How do you verify APK authenticity?
Which warning signs indicate fake websites?
Are GitHub releases safer than random APK sites?
How do you confirm the latest version is legitimate?

I’ve noticed some pages even copy the exact same descriptions and screenshots, which makes it difficult for beginners to know which site is trustworthy.

Personally, I’d rather spend extra time researching than risk installing unsafe files on my phone. Emulator apps usually request significant permissions, so security matters a lot.

If longtime users have recommendations for safer downloading practices or reliable update sources, I’d appreciate hearing them. I think many newcomers face the same confusion when searching for emulator downloads online.
