Regular vacuuming helps with surface dust, but it won't really touch deep stains or trapped allergens — especially with how dusty it gets here in Abu Dhabi. From what I've found, there are basically two routes:

DIY steam cleaning — fine for a light refresh, but home steam cleaners often leave the carpet damp for hours, and with the AC humidity that can turn into a mildew smell if you're not careful.
Getting it professionally done — they use hot water extraction or dry cleaning methods that actually pull the stains and allergens out from deep in the fibers, and it dries a lot faster too.

If you're around Khalifa City, MBZ, Al Riyadh City, Al Shawamekh, or Al Falah, honestly worth getting it done every few months if you've got kids or pets. I had someone come out from Melya last time and it made a noticeable difference — smell and stains were both gone by evening. Might be worth a shot if the DIY route isn't cutting it for you.
