NEW SHEFFIELD INTERNET RADIO STATION NEEDS INDEPENDENT MUSIC

Hey Up to all Sheffield musicians, composers, dj's and visual artists out there, my name is Mike Easdown and I have a mission, and I've got a feeling some of ya'll will be able to help me (and hopefully yourselves) out. Let me begin.

I am a member of the In Between family. In Between is an independent CD shop which is currently situated next to the porter cottage pub on sharrowvale rd, nr Hunters Bar, Sheffield. The shop specialises in Funk, soul, Jazz, Breaks, Hip Hop, Latino, Sambaaaaa.....the list goes on. We also got a little pop but that's not what it's about.

IN between has been open for about a year now and is run by the DJ's and Musicians that promote and play at the five year old and ever more successful PULP funktion. This funk'd up evening takes place on a Thursday night @ the Forum. Further connections with local bars and clubs could be listed but I don't wanna take up too much of your time. Soo Basic introduction over lets move on to our rooster booster plans.

As from Mid August to September we are moving to Ecclessall Rd, and taking over a bigger, more central location opposite Collegiate Crescent. This will be a hybrid CD shop, Coffee/Smoothy/Treat Shop, and Art Exhibition/Auction area. Hopefully with the right people involved this should turn into a very exciting cultural outlet.

As part of this expansion I am starting up an Internet Radio Station specialising in promoting independent music. We already have pledged the idea successfully to Brighton's 'Tru Thoughts' and 'Zebra Traffic's' record label A @ R man Robert Louis. And are also in the process of presenting the idea to 'Grand Central', 'Ninja Tune', 'Nightmares on Wax' and other like minded, peace loving musical movements.

This station will however also be very much focussed on promoting the home grown independent music from within Sheffield. The Format of this station is so far unclear, (and will no doubt depend upon responses) however I do hope we will be able to have a mixture of pre recorded and live sets to stream. So if you think your music should be heard then please contact me at the email address below.

Also if you know any one who may be interested in hanging art in the shop, purely for exhibition or with selling in mind then tell them to also contact me at the address below.
