I just recently read this novel. This was the first time I had read one of Mr. Roeder's books and I was totally captivated. This book speaks for a lot of us I am sure. I know it does for me. A lot of the events in the book was a lot of the same stuff that happened to me. I have to say my emotions where on a roller coaster ride and I was actually crying at the end of the book. I have read several different gay oriented books and there isn't really an author that has made me feel this much emotion except mayber Mel Keegan and his NARC series of Books that feature the characters of Jarrat and Stone.
