Christmas Groove History

christmas groove

The first annual Christmas Groove concert took place in 2004 at Polaris Christian Church and was organized by a group of friends looking for a new way to enjoy Christmas music. With an aim towards high quality musicianship and performing the music in modern styles such as rock, blues, jazz, pop and country, the concert has grown in popularity and attendance. This free concert has become a tradition and was expanded to two shows in 2005. In 2010, after using e-tickets and other ways to manage seating, it has outgrown its home at Polaris with an annual attendance of over 500. More importantly, the people who attended the concert in 2010 were able to raise over $2400 for Love INC. of Northern Medina County. Last year over 800 people attended the Christmas Groove concert in it’s new home at the Brunswick Performing Arts Center. Due to the generosity of the people who attended that night, the Groove presented the Brunswick Food Pantry with a check for $4363.02 which was enough money to stock their shelves for 13 weeks.
