Major plan for 200 homes in key Cookham BLP site presented to RBWM

Major plans for 200 homes in Cookham have been formally submitted after the site was allocated for development in the Borough Local Plan.

These homes are planned for land off Cannondown Road, in an open field north of Lower Mount Farm, Long Lane (also known under the site name AL37).

The site covers 8.78 hectares across two ‘parcels’ – one for 160 homes (site A, ref 23/02019/OUT)) and another for 34 (site B, 23/02022/OUT). Outline applications have also been submitted for a total of six ‘self-build’ homes across the two sites.

Objections are beginning to come in for a major plan for 200 homes in Cookham which will sit as ‘an extra arm’ that neighbours feel will not be in keeping with the area.

Re: Major plan for 200 homes in key Cookham BLP site presented to RBWM

Just a reminder that if you wish to object to the 194 new homes planned for the field adjacent to Lower Mount Farm, the cut off date is the 19th Sept. I feel very strongly that it will be the beginning of a complete urbanisation of this lovely village, and will cause many problems with traffic, sewage and already stretched amenities such as Doctors, school places and broadband access. Currently there are only 11 objections on the RBWM website, and this means they will take it that the rest of Cookham is completely fine with this overdevelpoment. If you dont like the thought of 194 more houses, and potentially 776 more people needing school places, GPs, Dentists, Broadband, etc, or building on greenbelt, or the impact on wildlife, or the thought of 338 to 776 more cars trying to exit from this development every morning, onto Cannondown Road/Switchback Road, please, please send in an objection. You can email it to planning@rbwm.gov.uk or send on a form from the RBWM website. I have just sent in my objection, and Im happy for anyone to use it as a starting point for their own objection.
