Jack 'The Piper' McAuliffe - Brazilian Emigration, 1827

Hi! I'm a Brazil-based historian. For several years, I've been researching the story of the emigration of some 3,000 men, women and children from north Cork to Brazil, in 1827. Among their number was said to have been a young man called Jack 'The Piper' McAuliffe, a musician who is credited with writing a ballad about the experience. It is also said that he ultimately returned to Cork in 1828. If anyone had any further information on this member of the McAuliffe clan, I'd be fascinated to hear it. Best regards,
