Hi, Can 'anyone' please help me. I have platinum hen which I am wanting to breed from.
Can anyone tell me which coloured males will allow me to produce 'some' babies with the Platinum colouring?? Also does anyone know which colours would have been bred for my hen to have the platinum colouring??

For you to have a Platinum female the father could have been either Platinum or split to Platinum. The mother could have been Normal or Platinum. For you to breed Platinum babies of both sexes from the Platinum female the paired male could be either Platinum or split to Platinum.

I was wondering if you could tell me, if there is a way to sex at least some of the babies by their colouring?
I was told that if I bred my platinum hen with a whiteface split to platinum that any visual platinums would be male(opposite to the hen) and that any whitefaces would be female (opposite to the cock). Is this accurate? If not could you please set me on the right track?

If you have a Whiteface split to Platinum male with a Platinum female, I would think that you would end up with some Platinum females as well. You could try to email a Cockatiel mutation breeder or Cockatiel club for more information.

You would produce both males and female platuims from that pairing..you would not be able to produce and white faces,unless the female was also a spilt to w/f...
