    Re: TMAT

IF they're 'recognized', it's only 'recognition' by the other kulture klubs. IF this group exists here, it's only as yet another kulture klub. It's the first i've ever heard of them in Tennessee - and there aren't too many that have "hid out" to remain annoymous for the last 12+ yrs.

    Re: TMAT

Metis is a French term used by a Canadian tribe and by Canadian mixed-bloods, it is not a term used in the U.S.

    Re: TMAT

    jc
Does anyone know of the TMAT tribe in Tennessee? It is called the Tennessee Metis Aboriginal Tribe (mixed blood. They say they are a recognized tribe in Tn and others say they are registered. Does anyone have any comments on this or know which it is?

this is information i'd long-ago forgotten about but was reminded of:
    ------

    First (1st) Universal Metis Church/TMAT
    Religious Corporation, Sequatchie County
    filed w/the state: 10/21/2009
by Gilbert J Hall [69 years old]
    158 Hester Drive
    Dunlap TN 37327

back around 1998/99 when TCIA acting chairman Clayton Prest said that the Southern Metis or Metis Nation of the South was going to sweep through the South signing up all mixedbloods and was going to become a political force to reckon with

    ------

    First Universal Metis Church

    Dalton GA 30721
    706-529-8815

First (1st) Universal Metis Church/GMAT, Inc.

    They're NOT RECOGNIZED in Georgia.

    Unless it's as a church.
