really, is there still a reason for TNNAC to exist?

re: TNNAC mtg 28 August - what's the purpose?

no quorum, so we sat around and talked for a couple hours.

the big question at yesterday's TNNAC board meeting,
with the TCIA sunset, what's the purpose of TNNAC?

some wanted TNNAC to advocate for the legislature to create a new TCIA with the 6 groups newly recognized by the dead TCIA as tribes.

there won't be any elections for TNNAC to administer without a TCIA.
there won't be any TCIA so long as the parties on either side of the recognition issue are perceived as equally valid and try to discredit each other.
TNNAC chose a side in this past election and filling its board.
there can't be any real decision on the future of TNNAC (and its partisan majority) until AG's opinion on the validity of the TCIA's recognition of the 6 groups as tribes back in june. that decision will affect TNNAC and any proposal for a future TCIA.

a future possibility for TNNAC: issues of common ground, like obtaining & sharing information on population demographics, federal funds coming into the state for education & economic development.
