Dave Trezak is emceeing. That'll be good.

Re: Cumberland Plateau Powwow coming this weekend!

You better bring your boots for the mud!!!!! Every year it is a mud hole, and you can bank on that. Imagine that!!! CARMA!!!!!! bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaa

Re: Cumberland Plateau Powwow coming this weekend!

Here comes the rain for the weekend!!!! Imagine that!!!

Re: Cumberland Plateau Powwow coming this weekend!

just another " look at us- we're indians" show.
IIC is just a front for that group to raise money to help themselves. 9 years and no so called "culture center" yet.
They might be indians, but they ain't real!

Re: Cumberland Plateau Powwow coming this weekend!

What's IIC? I was just saying Trezak is good. He makes a decent emcee, but he's a better entertainer. Never said I was going--too much work this weekend. Gotta be in downtown Atlanta. Sorry, folks

Re: Cumberland Plateau Powwow coming this weekend!

yeah, who/what is "IIC" and who's hosting the powwow?

    "IIC" = Indigenous Intertribal Corp

I think his wife and daughter run it now.

Re: "IIC" = Indigenous Intertribal Corp

Tommy Veal when he was alive was suppose to be running it. But like back before he passed, and now in present, his wife and step daughter have always been the ones running this IIC. Supposedly for educational reasons. All their fund raising and donations as always supported them, nothing else!!!

Re: Cumberland Plateau Powwow coming this weekend!

We'll be going. At least on Saturday. Sunday's my BD so, I think we have other plans.
We haven't danced in soooo long. The weather should be nice.
    Anyone else going?

Re: Cumberland Plateau Powwow coming this weekend!

If you don't want your regalia ruined you better bring back up mud boots. Every year it is a swamp, and it is suppose to rain there all day tomorrow and even tonight!!! It will be the usual mud hole

    Spoken like a true Cuckoo!!!

I've been to the Cumberland Plateau Pow Wow four or five times prior to this year, and it definitely is not a "swamp every year" as Ms. Cuckoo DeVille states.

Prior to last year, when the rains came down hard & heavy around 2:30 in the afternoon, the only other time that it rained when I was there was the second year of the event - but it was held indoors that year, so it didn't really matter!

It did rain on Saturday this year, but didn't start until around 4:30 or so. I'm not sure what it did on Sunday, since I had to work & couldn't make it back.

    enjoy your weekend

no matter what you decide to do - and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

    Re: enjoy your weekend

Thanks! We're still watching the weather. It all depends if too much rain is in the forcast. We always bring clear moccasin cover-ups where ever we go.

    Re: enjoy your weekend

That's always smart, my granny rainboots keep disappearing. Where they go, I have no idea.
