    TNNAC January 30th Meeting CANCELLED

    28 jan 2010, 13:00

    TNNAC Board Members:
The most recent winter storm watch information is below for most areas of
our state and specifically middle and east Tennessee. Understanding that
weather can cause road conditions to worsen (beginning sometime tomorrow
and lasting through Saturday), and with safety being the utmost importance,
the January 30th meeting will be postponed. We certainly do not want
any member to endanger his or her life during adverse weather conditions.

    Re: TNNAC agenda & requests

TNNAC Officers: Marcia, Wally, Ramona -

i will be attending saturday's TNNAC board meeting and want to be prepared
with the same background and new information as other board members.
please send me copies of the relevant information and advise me on the

    1. re. "Election of board members"
    - what persons are to be elected to the TNNAC board?

    2. will any of you three be running for election as an officer? if so,
    - will you disclose your family's tribal affiliation prior to the meeting?
    - will you disclose your political party affiliation?
    - will you disclose your support or lack thereof for the "Confederation of
TN Native Tribes" and/or the tribal-recognition-pursuit of its members?

    3. please send me by tomorrow copies of the minutes or minute drafts of
    TNNAC's last 3 meetings, including

    - 5 December 2009 Memphis - Special Called Meeting
    - 17 October 2009
    - 19 July 2009

    4. i would also like to include in the agenda under "Old Business" a
review of the 1 august 2009 Memphis caucus and TNNAC's review and decision
    about that caucus.
    - is there a written explanation of what happened from both perspectives?
    - is there a written determination by TNNAC of the problem and the
decision by TNNAC to invalidate the Memphis caucus? if so, i would like
copies of these deliberations and decisions.

    5. please send me a copy of all materials sent by TNNAC to the governor
and speakers for the TNNAC 2009 TCIA-nomination process, including copies
    of all correspondence.

i presume that these documents exist and that they are available to all
TNNAC board members and to the public. if not, please explain.

    6. i am also concerned that TNNAC has become very partisan, including
    almost exclusively Republican,
    almost exclusively "Confederation",
has no members of federally-recognized tribes,
only one member of a state-recognized tribe,
only one member elected to TNNAC by a regular
caucus from any of the past three elections,
has invalidated a caucus election without due process,
and had zero (0) 2009 Convention participation from persons not supportive of the "Confederation".
i would like "Concerns" added to the Agenda under "New Business", followed by a
discussion on how to make TNNAC more inclusive, more diverse and more
representative of the statewide indian community.

thanks in advance for your consideration.
