    "STD" or "CTD"

be whatever name it's called, it's still a problem!

SO many folks have told me about viruses they gotten recently - hubby's fighting a Trojan that I think came from the other message board, when I posted there from his computer.

Dang, went to http://superantispyware.com and it found 1,025 items on my computer!!!!!! "MyFunWebSearch" or something like that was THE biggest spyware/malware issue. From what I understand, it's difficult to remove and in the process of removal, can just kill your comp.

I'm not smart with the removing stuff and am afraid I'd truly kill my poor ol' comp, once and for all if I tried to remove it myself.

After removing most of the 1,025 items, it was AMAZING how much faster my computer moved!

Everyone needs GREAT anti-virus software and also spyware/malware protection!!!

still having major problems with sending emails

it's aggravating me to death but tech help has done what they can do.

But I try to respond to everyone who sends an email to me .... the problem comes in when my response doesn't go out to you!

When there are enough responses from me in the OutBox, I try to quickly send them all - confuses the system long enough to get most of them out ... but not all. Sometimes I think it might be "keywords" stopping the emails? But then again, sometimes even the emails/replies with possible keywords will go out as if nothing's wrong.

heck, I don't know what the problem is but I do know it's frustrating!

    Re: "STD" or "CTD"

Is there anyway to delete the message threads on the old board so folks don't go fishing and catch something, and just post a link to this new board?

Also - joining in with DonnaD. I like the "sticky" aspect on this one and I actually like that we don't have the ever-reappearing never-ending threads happening here on the board. I don't use the e-mail subscribe feature, so I don't have to wade through old stuff to get to the newest topics.

    deleting old board

yes, all posts on the old board (and at last check, there are 3097 messages) can be deleted. Everything on the board can be removed - except for the post button, but I believe it can be disabled.

Yup, just did it and removed all the other links, etc.

It's still possible to have the never-ending thread situation here ... but I don't believe it'll 'keep rising to the top' whenever there's a post made to it. LOL Wow, won't THAT be nice!

Thanks for some good tips and reminders, Val!

    Viruses

As I said I got three trojans from the other message board after posting.
I got a really bad virus that ate my virus software off my computer. And my Tech guy Jimi had a hard time fixing it this last time. He spent 4 hours just getting the crap off this thing. Then he put me in SpyHunter 3
It finds all kinds of stuff including all the cookies and tells me how many infections I have when it scans.
I just have to pay with a home cooked meal. He likes Fried Chicken.Vicky

    Re: Viruses

LOLOL Most excellent!! A very goot trade, I'd say!

Glad it all worked out - safely - and you're able to stay with us!!
