Boss Strategies

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Champion of Bat Aspect: High Priest Jeklik
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you are ready to pull her, shoot an arrow or have your tank get close.

She has two forms: bat form and troll form.

In bat form she will be hard to hold aggro. Every so often she will cast a shriek spell which will silence people, so make sure if you are a caster you are not close to it. In troll form she will cast various priest spells.

She will cast a Shadow Word: Pain. I do not know how much damage this does, but if you have group members paying attention, it should pose no problem! She casts a Curse of Blood which increases physical damage by 95, so keep this off your melee or they are going to hurt. She also casts a Chain Mindflay. The biggest spell you need to pay attention to is her "Great Heal". Do anything you can to interrupt the ability.

If you see bats start coming out, AE them down and keep them away from her... they should not pose too much of a problem. MAKE SURE, and I repeat.. MAKE SURE you pull them away from her.. she will do this emote every so often and it will silence everyone for 8 seconds. The other bats you will need to watch out for are the ones that fly over, they will drop fire bombs which you will see on the ground and will give you a little time to move away, but after that they will kill you pretty much instantly.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Champion of Snake Aspect: High Priest Venoxis
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you look in the room you will see two things On the left you will see the Speaker and on the right you will see Venoxis. Unlike some of the bosses in the zone, you can pull the Sandfury Speaker and the boss will NOT come after, despite what people were saying. This boss can cast some spells but nothing worthy of noting, just off-tank him, kill the other mobs, and chop him down.

It really is up to you how to want to deal with Venoxis's adds. Personally I recommend killing them so you don't have to deal with them if a mage dies and you have no CC left.. they are pretty much like the Razzashi Adders and die pretty fast.

While Venoxis is in troll form he will be able to cast various spells based on how many people are next to each other. I am not 100% sure what will make him cast Holy Nova or his Holy Wrath.. but it is painfully obvious he does them both when you have people stacked on top of each other. His Holy Nova works like anyone else's Holy Nova.. except it is actually useful. It will hit a lot of people hard and it will heal his snakes and him.

At 50% health he will turn into his snake form. He starts casting a poison cloud, so if you stand in it you are most likely going to die. Every time you move him, he will recast it, so you will need to be moving him a lot to stay out of it. He will cast it 100% of the time when he dies.

His other special ability while in snake form is to spawn Parasites, which are little snakes. They are level 1 with 1 health. What is the problem with them then? If no one kills them and it runs up to a player, it will give that person a debuff which does enough damage to kill them pretty fast.

When Venoxis gets really low he will Enrage and do a ton of damage.

Simple rule to this encounter - make sure players are spaced out and paying attention to what is happening around the boss.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Champion of Spider Aspect: High Priestess Mar'li
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This fight will tell you if your raid is able to take the rest of the zone. Although the spiders are elite, you will be able to AE them down if you off-tank the brood mothers. Although the room has a lot of mobs, once you get in the room you can look straight at the boss and follow the right wall and pull her to the room entrance.

When you pull you will get the Emissary, you can off tank Mar'li while you kill the Emissary - you can drop the Emissary pretty fast.
When you pull you should be killing the Spawns then kill the Emissary. Pretty simple pull.. two warriors off tank Mar'li and the Emissary and have rogues and all other dps on the spawns before they get too big. At this point you can continue the fight or run out to restart the encounter after the emissary is dead.

The longer the spawn of Mar'li, the bigger they get. The bigger they get, the stronger and faster they will hit for. You need to throw rogues and mages on the spawns ASAP. You can usually AE them down fast enough with rogue DPS before they get too big.

In Troll form she will have a lifetap ability which will heal her enough where if you miss two of them you have a high chance of wiping. When you see this beam come out you need to have an Earthshock, pummel, kick, ANYTHING that will interrupt her so she does not regen too much.

In Spider form there are a few things to remember. The first important thing you need to know is that she has a Poison Bolt Volley which does 320 damage every 2 seconds. Easiest solution to this (if you are Horde) is to throw a Shaman in each group and have them throw totems down constantly.

The tricky part is she will throw webs which will root and cause an aggro wipe. She usually will root everyone including the main tank then run at other players and silence them. How you want to deal with this is completely up to you but I will explain how we did it so you can get a general idea on how the strategy can be.

Have the main tank close up at Mar'li and have players farther away in a group so when she throws a web she will run to everyone and a warrior can break out of the root and pull it back to the main tank. You can either have that warrior that is pulling it tank it now or have the previous main tank taunt it back and the warrior run back and rinse + repeat. It is very important that tanks are on top of it every time she wipes aggro, because she can instantly kill casters.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bloodlord Mandokir
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you are ready and see the Vilebranch Speaker, be prepared to fight Bloodlord because after the Speaker is dead Bloodlord will run down on his mount, dismount and you will have to fight his Raptor and him.

You have two choices when he dismounts.

1. You can off-tank his raptor, Ohgan, and kill Bloodlord.
2. You can kill Ohgan then fight Bloodlord.

Note: When you kill Ohgan, Bloodlord will get a 150% speed increase so if that is a big issue to why you are wiping, then you may want to off-tank Ohgan.

His abilities involve Mortal Strike and Whirlwind. He has some ability which has a partial aggro wipe and he will be all over the place, people find this to be a huge problem.. which IT IS NOT! As long as you can get a tank on him once in awhile taking the main hits you will have no problem with him running around. Why? Because no matter if you had a tank on him all the time or not, he still Whirlwinds. The Whirlwind will be hitting everyone most of the time so you just have to do your best to stay away from him.

During the fight you will see Chained Spirits along the entire wall, they will come to a corpse when a party member dies and ressurrect the player. Although a death does not matter because you will come back to life - every death gives Bloodlord a level which enhances his stats, damage, and other such things like a player would gain.

You will notice that he will start calling out player names and people will get a debuff called Threatening Gaze on them which only lasts a few seconds. If you do anything while that debuff is on you, he will hit you for approx. 14,000 damage. So unless you want a painful death, you need to be careful when he is calling out names.

Keep a couple of tanks on him and keep everyone else back with the spellcasters putting DoT's on him as much as possible.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edge of Madness
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In order to spawn the Edge of Madness, you need to make Gurubashi Mojo Madness

Trash mobs worthy of noting: imp groups!

Imps do INSANE amounts of damage and when you kill them, they will open a portal and 4 elite voidwalkers with a damage aura will come out. So killing them all at once is not a very good idea at all.

They are demons so you will be able to banish and enslave them. This is why you need a lot of warlocks! If you enslave them you can gain their ridiculously good dps, or you can banish them - it does not matter, as long as they are not dying all at once.

If you Enslave them, be careful, because they can still die. With the amount of DPS they have, chances are they will get aggro. just throw them a heal because you don't want multiple portals up.

1. Portal when an Imp dies.
2. Mad Voidwalkers that come out of the portal.

The Mad Voidwalkers have an aura that does a lot of damage, so be careful when AE'ing them.

This is the slowest part of the zone and it will take a bit to clear them all out.

Once you are in the room, there will be four tablets on the wall explaining each boss. Two on the left, two on the right. There is, although, another tablet in the middle which will teach 300 alchemists how to learn the [Gurubashi Mojo Madness] recipe.

Once you learn it and the alchemists already has the mats, you can create it and place it in the Brazier of Fire. Make sure you have everyone watching when you do this... this is one of the coolest scripts/animations in the game. :]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gri'lek, of the Iron Blood
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gri'lek is a berserk troll / warrior.

His special ability is to go 200% his size and he will start hitting people for 5000+ damage... but while in this form he moves slow as a rock. As soon as he starts to grow, have everyone run away and you can kite him.

He has a tremor ability which will AE stun and root someone.

Make sure you are keeping your main tank dispelled right away when he gets root.

You can fight him like you fight any berserk trolls in the zone except for when he uses his special ability.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Renataki, of the Thousand Blades
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Renataki is a troll / rogue. His special ability is to use vanish, randomly appear and ambush someone which will do quite a bit of damage. He is not that hard of a boss, just throw a few rogues on him and have them tank him and you can DPS him down. His vanish will not break on dots.

The best way we found to take him out was to have two warlocks take control of two of the imps before summoning the boss and then use the imps to attack Renataki. They have insane dps and end up holding agro. Instead of attacking other players he will attack the imps every time he disappears. The downside is you have to have some serious healing focused on the imp thats holding the agro. I had three people healing non-stop and was still using my warlock pet heal to keep the imp up and in the end it still died before the boss.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gahz'ranka
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once you finish the quest, go back to where you picked up the quest - 'Pagle's Pointe'. Once you are notified in that area, throw the barrel in the water and Gahz'ranka will spawn in the water and come up towards you. He has a few abilities, which should be noted first.

1. Frost Nova - The frost nova is not a root but rather an ae snare, this is so he can catch up to players.

2. An ability to knock a ton of players very high into the air to take massive falling damage - recommended fighting him in the water if you do not want to take the hiliarity fall damage factor out.

All in all, this fight is rather simple, you just need to keep taunt on him and keep your tank up. The knockback does not serve as an aggro reduction.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Champion of Tiger Aspect: High Priest Thekal
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After clearing the room, you will find yourself faced with 5 mobs including the boss.

He will have two zealot guards with him - one has mana and one does not. One will heal him and one will not. Simple solution? You have three areas and three tanks - left, center, and right.

Pull one to the left, pull one to the right and keep the boss in the center. Do NOT, and I repeat... DO NOT kill any of them. Get them all low health and pull them together and kill them at the same time. If you kill one and the other is up too long, like Corehound packs in Molten Core, they will rez each other.

Zealot Zath has a gouge that will wipe the tanks agro and will run after another player, the tank will only get gouged once or twice but it will happen.

Zealot Lor'Khan has a greater heal, blood lust, and lightning shield. It is recommended to purge blood lust and the lightning shield. For the greater heals you will need to have tanks pummel or a mage counterspelling as she is not immune to counterspell.

High Priest Thekal does not do much except Mortal Strike in troll form.

When he dies will turn into a tiger.

No matter if you killed the two tigers in the beginning or not, he will spawn two at the beginning which will be tagged as his "Guardians". Do not CC them! He will spawn two more later on and two more after that.. easiest solution is to have a warlock dot/fear solo them.

In tiger form he will have a dot and a knockback.I do not have the name of the dot so I cannot give you too much information about the dot other then it does hurt.. although I did not see it occur that often.

His knockback will be served twice no matter what, it will throw you far away and it will give you double the aggro reduction.. chances are if a tank is not positioned correctly he is going to lose aggro and some people are going to die. You are going to need to have decent gear in order to sustain the amount of healing and damage that is required in this fight.

----------------------------
--------------------------------------
Champion of Panther Aspect: High Priestess Arlokk
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once you work your way into the Temple of Bethekk you will come to a stop at the bottom where there is a gong. There is only one entrance into the room and there are two tiger pins on each side of the room.

As soon as you hit the Gong, the event will start and she will spawn. Panthers will be spawning out of both sides (elites and non-elites) until the maximum number of panthers is up. Arlokk will run in from the opposite side of the room so make sure everyone is stacked on the gong and have a tank ready to grab her as soon as she spawns.

As soon as your tank is on her you need everyone to start going all out and start to chop her down, this fight represents an easier version of Razorgore. You will need to kill her as fast as possible so you do not have a huge problem with the large amounts of panther that will soon cover the entire room.

You have two choices:

1. Kill the panthers which instantly respawn while other classes DPS her down.
2. Mass scale AE CC on all the panthers in the room and drop Arlokk on her face as fast as you can.

If you are horde you can use earthbind totem to kite the panthers around for a bit, but kiting them will be a hard task for how small the room is. I recommend using some sort of mass scale methods like chain fearing or a frost nova chain.

She will use an emote that will place a Hunter's Mark like ability on the player, the icon will be the same as Hunter's Mark but the target over the players head will be a purple arrow directing at the player. (This was so players are not confused between player and npc hunters mark)

A lot of people think this is going to bring new problems, but this actually works to your advantage - whether you are AEing or mass CC you will be able to direct all of the tigers into a certain place with just one person instead of them all over the room.

She will go cat form from time to time and randomly disappear. DO NOT WORRY, she did not despawn, she went into a stealth which you cannot break and you will have to keep working on the panthers until she comes back.. this gives you a little time to kill down elites to help the people who are killing/ccing the panthers an easier time doing their task. When she comes back just hop back on her and keep chopping her down.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jin'do the Hexxar
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This encounter actually takes full attention from every class and some classes will have to put in a lot more effort then others. The first part to this encounter is clearing the entire room. You will notice the skeleton dance pile respawns pretty fast, this is because it's part of the boss encounter, do not worry about them… they are easy to kill but they are also easy for people to die if you are not careful. They do a lot of damage when they are all stacked on one target.

It is your choice on how you want to position the fight, but since people will get ported into the pit (such as a priest) you are going to need people near by in order to help that person with the skeletons as the skeletons respawn in around 00:45 seconds to 1:45 minutes.

Brain Washing Totem (Mind Control)

This will mind control a player in your group and he will start killing people, he can have multiple Brain Wash totems up but he will never put two down in a row unless Powerful Healing Totem is already down.. simply keep the Powerful Healing Totem down as #1 priority.. if you are getting spammed with totems, then just sheep whoever is mind controlled until you can hop on to that totem.

Powerful Healing Totem

This will heal him for immense amounts but the totem has low hit points, crucial that this goes down almost instantly.

This is where you deal with skeletons. He will randomly select a person and port them in the middle of the skeletons. So every time someone is ported, you need a mage/warlock or two to run in and clear them out. There is no point to kill them constantly; it will just be a waste of mana. They have low health but can do some nasty damage if they are all on one target. One POM/Flamestrike from ranged will kill them if you have a decent amount of +spell damage and are fire spec. (initial damage+dots+ignite(chance if crit) = skeleton soup.)

You will notice during the fight, if you read your combat log, an Unknown Entity is beating on you for 1 damage. They will shadow shock you for up to 800 and 1000 crits. What are they? Well when you get the curse you will start seeing weird shades running around, at first you may not think anything of them, but then a light bulb pops in your head! What are these shades? Well once you have the curse on you start to realize they are no longer Unknown Entity so you finally found out who is randomly hitting players.

1 Damage? Who cares.. Yeah well, towards the end of the fight there can be up to 25-50 (exaggeration! not sure on the limit, but we had 20 up on us once) at once. When you have 15 of them beating on you for 1 damage constantly with no delay and shadow shocking for 600-1000 damage... people and mana tend to drop faster then usual.

The solution is to leave the curse on anyone that can do a little bit of damage. If it's a druid, let the druid go feral and start beating on them for the 10 seconds he has the curse. EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS! This fight can be a little bit of luck because it is unknown currently if the curse is just a secondary target based thing or if it is based on damage. If you leave these shades up, you will have a very very very very very hard time doing this fight.. especially if you do not have sufficient gear.

Another option to the shades is setting your pets to aggressive and if a pet gets cursed the pet will start killing them.

I will let you know, this fight is a little bit of luck. If DPS classes are not getting the curse, the shades are going to stack and you are not going to have a fun time. Fully geared tier 1/2 guilds can wipe on this fight if the proper classes do not get the curse. Some thoughts that circulated was that the curse was damage based, so I guess you may be able to predict who gets the curse.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hakkar
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moving in towards Hakkar's temple is a rather simple process, if you assign players targets to CC while wandering groups are pathing towards the corner square you are at. The only mobs that respawn are the Son's of Hakkar which I will tell you why a little bit below.

First I will explain one of the most crucial things in this fight.. 'SPREADING OUT'.

If you do not spread out, you will get Corrupted Blood and it will spread to other players. If a player happens to get this, DO NOT JUMP AROUND. It will only spread as people panic. Just tell players to move away from you and stand still. If too many people are getting it, you are simply just going to wipe. So this is a crucial thing to go over before you start. Now that you are in position and have people ready to go, there are two other things that are crucial to know about this fight before starting!

Throughout the fight a random player will be mind controlled and you will not be able to dispel or cure this in anyway... the only thing you can do is CC this player which the most preferably CC is sheep or fearing that player. Someone brought up that it may be based on whoever is closest to Hakkar, they had their hunter with no weapons on and standing on top of Hakkar and he would always get mind controlled. This theory sounds plausible because it usually is warriors and rogues getting mind controlled.

There really is only one way to do this fight. When you are ready to fight Hakkar, pull both of them... sheep one and kill the other. After the first poison, kill the sheep (make sure everyone is getting the poison) and then the game is on for pulling as they spawn.

Have two people at each corner pulling the Sons as they spawn, chances are you are going to miss atleast one or two Blood Siphons. Although missing one will heal him, it actually works to your favor in some aspects because you will be ahead of him on a Blood Siphon now until the timer gets back to the point where you miss one again.

A recommended method is having warlocks sitting at each corner dotting them so they are taking damage as they run up, then have some people kill it (make sure your main tank is still getting heals) and then have everyone run in the poison.

1. Green = Poison hurting him.
2. Red = Player that did not get poisoned and is healing Hakkar.
3. My corpse because i'm a bad player.
4. Mind Controlled player.

When you turn-in Hakkar's heart you get to see a pretty cool event and you get a choice between these three trinkets

AQ20 Guide

AQ20 Guide

Now that the gates to AQ are open, this guide to AQ20 should be helpful.

Strategy for the Rajaxx fight in AQ20 man

Strategy for the Rajaxx fight in AQ20 man

1) Don't speak to the neutral named NPC's.
2) Gather in the open area where we killed Kurinnaxx.
3) Have a hunter pull to the rest of the group from the room with the waves of elites. Ice trapping a ground unit on the pull.
4) Druids root all the flying units that come with each wave. (Warriors tank extra flyers on waves with less warriors and more flyers.)
5) & 6) MT tanks the boss of the wave while everyone else nukes it down, except fear able classes who kite all the other mobs; Off Tank extra mobs with spare warriors/druid bears if possible.
7) Nuke down the rooted flying guys.
8) Burn down all melee BUT 1 WARRIOR. Keep the last rooted by a druid and feared by a warlock while the rest of the raid regenerates mana. We keep the last warrior alive because when there are no more warriors it triggers the next wave. Once everyone is regenerated to 100% we melee/wand down the last warrior.

Repeat this for every wave.

9) After wave 7 activate the NPC's for the Rajaxx fight. Heal the NPC's as much as possible, the more that remain alive at the end of the fight the more reputation you receive with Cenarion Circle.

Also on wave 3 the boss of the wave does an AoE stomp attack that reduces your current HP in half so the warrior needs to tank him away from everyone else.

Wave 1: Center - Captain Qeez
Swarmguard Needler x2 - Qiraji Warrior x4
Wave 2: Left side - Captain Tuubid
Swarmguard Needler x3 - Qiraji Warrior x3
Wave 3: Right side - Captain Drenn
Swarmguard Needler x5 - Qiraji Warrior x1
Wave 4: Further left - Captain Xurrem
Swarmguard Needler x3 - Qiraji Warrior x3
Wave 5: Further right - Major Yeggeth
Swarmguard Needler x4 - Qiraji Warrior x2
Wave 6: Deep left side - Major Pakkon
Swarmguard Needler x4 - Qiraji Warrior x2
Wave 7: Deep right side - Colonel Zerran
Swarmguard Needler x3 - Qiraji Warrior x3

Then: General Rajaxx
