According to family oral history and recorded Montgomery Co.AR records, this is what I have about the Harp clan. Couples for each generation are grouped together. The family history starts with the oldest known information, to current.

Harp,William Born in US. Died between May 1859 to Aug 1860.

Cunningham,Sarah Born 1832 Died 1903 Buried at
Blacksprings, AR.

Sarah and William Harp had two sons, William and James(Jim). Sarah and the two small boys moved to Polk Co. AR after Mr. Harp died. Sarah moved to Montgomery Co.AR in or around 1864. She remarried 04-17-1867 to David M. Peppers. Both are suppose to be buried in Blacksprings Baptist Church Cemetary but there is not a headstone or record of their burials.

David and Sarah had three children: John Thomas (born 05-01-1868), David "Dave" Jackson (born 01-16-1870), and Martha "Mattie" L. (born 08-22-1872). Most of the Pepper clan live in Pike Co., Glenwood,AR today.

Joseph William "Will" Harp, Born 03-14-1860 in Middle, TN. Died 11-08-1930 in Montgomery Co.Norman,AR and buried at Blacksprings Baptist Church Cemetary, in Blacksprings, AR. Will and Mary had seven children, not six, as it states in the Montgomery County Book. (Have Photos of both) Their oldest child, Zora, was born 01-26-1889, died 02-06-1892, and is buried at Mt. Gilead Cemetary by her Grandfather, Carter Markham. James Franklin(1892-1953), David Carter(1894-1948), Alice Arene Harp-Howard(1896-1973), William Mack,(08-27-1899 thru 12-25-1942), John Thurmon(11-04-1901 thru 08-03-1986), Arley Owen(01-03-1908 thru 12-08-1979).

Markham, Mary Grant Born 02-14-1870 at Old Dallas, near Mena, Arkansas. Died April 8, 1949 and is buried at Blacksprings Cemetary, next to her husband, William, east side of cemetary, next to, and in front of, her favorite son, William Mack Harp.

Harp, William Mack Born 08-27-1899 Died 12-25-1942 in Garland Co. Hot Springs, AR. Buried at Blacksprings Baptist Church, Blacksprings,AR. Children are: Lawrence David, William Mack(aka Billy Mack), and infant female.

Herring-Harp, Margaret "Maggie" Ida Born 09-24-1901 in Montgomery Co., Blacksprings, AR. Died 07-05-2002 in Garland Co. Hot Springs, AR. Buried at Black-
springs Baptist Church Cemetary, Blacksprings AR. To obtain a copy of a VHS tape of Margaret "Maggie" Herring-Harp's memories, contact Kit Harp, of Fort Smith, Arkansas.)

William Mack Harp(aka Billy Mack)Born 09-07-1931 in Garland Co. Hot Springs, AR. He worked as a classified manager for the Sentinel Record Newspaper in Hot Springs for 36. They had three children: Dottie, William Stephen, and Lori(me)

Dorothy Ann Cannon, Born 07-18-1934 in Garland Co. Hot Springs, AR. Married 01-17-1951 in Hot Spring Co.AR.
