Debt Relief

The theme of the Debt Relief will be on the top of the G8 summit agenda and on the mouths of half the world.
What do you think about this plan ?
What do you think about the huge crowds demands in the world concert iniciative led by Bob Geldof ?
And what do you think about the ONE iniciative ?

This is a bit funny, because the aid is given by the very nations who drove Africa to despair through centuries of exploitation and I don't think this shameless and cruel exploitation has ceased even now. Of course, just giving them some money/forgetting about their debts is not going to help them in the long-term. They need to develop an ability to compete on the world market. How they can do this without becoming dependent on the West in this or that sense, is not clear, the gap is too big. That the West is willing to dictate things to Africa is perfectly obvious. The UK chancellor G.Brown recently demanded from African countries that their governments should act in a way "transparent" to the West....

I think they are naive aging hippies grasping at a chance to lead their lifestyle. They might help with a tiny bit of money to African countries, but there was way too much hype about the concert. Should be Tony Blair's idea to get some more popularity points for himself.

Re: Debt Relief

So if helping is not good, and not helping is bad, what should we do ? Just see how africans die every die by wars, famine and disease or find a different approach of help ?
I think a step ahead was made. Just one. It is better than nothing.
Dictating policies can sound aggressive, but selecting the least corrupted governments to give help and cooperation is also a must. Pouring millions of dollars to the hands of few corrupted military or politician is a shame. It works nothing.
That s good that some african countries are also discussing an alternative way to deal and share aid to the richest countries.
European Union is also worry about the african situation because it cannot handle anymore with so much immigration. Anyway, the few african countries which have been more succesfull during the past years should give the sample for others too.It is not easy in a continent where even the national unity is an utopy.

Re: Debt Relief

Getting fast debt relief is simply not possible but you can cut down the debt slowly. It’s quite easy to fall fast into debt but takes time you get rid of that load. Well experts would certainly assist and show the way out from debt.
