Yet when God appeared to Elijah, God was not in the firestorm or the earthquake but in the silence. In the absence of other sounds or distractions, God was made known to the prophet.
I have found that I need times of silence, times when I put away anything that might beep or ring to distract me, so that I can listen to the still, small voice and hear in the silence the living God.
Why not take a moment for silence now.
