Daily Meditation for 05/04/06

Good Morning,
Wait! Wait! Wait! We've had to wait all of our lives. When we were younger, we had to wait to date, to drive, to make our own decisions, to declare our independence, and we had to wait to be able and ready to depart our parent's place and live on our own. Sometimes we pitched a fit, sometimes we pouted, and sometimes we had a pity party. But through it all, pleasant times, painful times, and poor times, we made it. We survived the wait.
Now being older and no longer dependent on our natural parents, but dependent on our spiritual Father, we still find ourselves waiting. But this time its different. We now have a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ and we know who we are in Him, which helps us to wait wisely, willingly, and watchfully. Even when we start to feel weary in waiting, we can still wait because we know that He is a great, gracious and generous parent and He has perfect timing. Remember our parents would say, "It's not time yet", and most times they were right.
Even though it has been a long time, the good news is 'It is not as long as it has been', and the wait and the weight is almost over.

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
that I would see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait on the Lord.
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say on the Lord!
Psalm 27:13-14

Kings shall be your foster fathers,
And their queens your nursing mothers;
They shall bow down to you with their faces
to the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet.
Then you will know that I am the Lord,
For they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me.
Isaiah 49:23

But those that wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength; they shall mount
up with wings like eagles, they shall run and
not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
