WHAT ARE QUALIFICATIONS OF A TEAM CAPTAIN AND WHAT IS HIS/HER JOB?

Here are some qualities I feel a team captain should possess, in no particular order:
1. Serve a motivator for his/her teammates
2. No where to draw the line between friendships and team business or success (in other words do what's best for the team and not worry about making friends happy).
3. Knowledge of the game
4. Serve as a spokesman/woman for your team
5. Lead by example

To me the qaulifiations of the captain is someone who is willing to lead on and off the field and someone who can be a follower as well. What I mean by that is someone who is not to big to take suggestions from someone else. If they can do those 2 things then you got the makings of a good captain. ha ha ha

I agree a team captain should be

1. A leader and a follower.
2. Serve as a motivator
3. Must be able to take criticism
4. Should want to be heard
5. Be a good decision maker
6. Know the strengths and weakness of each player

LEAD BY EXAMPLE

OH YEAH it should also be a person that most players get alone with. Most will not respect a person they do like.
