“My BASA Family”


A family is a family for what they go through together,

I’ll have your back and you got mine no matter what or whenever.

Take away from the family and the walls will come tumbling down,

With no wall for protection you’re all alone now.

With the walls rebuilt and my family surrounding me,

And now you can feel secure and protected by your BASA family.

Just like the grip as we tightly hold our bats,

We’re ready for war on the field we shall attack.

Our gloves securely positioned within the palm of our hands,

We take all of it in as we perform for our fans.

So why is my BASA family so important to me?

If you’ve ever attended a tournament then it should be plain to see.

From Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Texas too,

Florida is representing strong and we can’t forget about the (St.) Lou.

As we step out on the playing field coordinating to a “T”,

The Bar-B-Q’s a drippin’ you are now apart of the BASA family.

"GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN"


A PRECIOUS ONE FROM US IS GONE;

A VOICE WE LOVED IS STILL

A PLACE IS VACANT IN OUR LIVES

ON WHICH CAN NEVER BE FILLED

SOME MAY THINK YOU ARE FORGOTTEN,

THOUGH ON EARTH, YOU ARE NO MORE;

BUT IN MEMORY YOU ARE WITH US,

AS YOU ALWAYS WERE BEFORE.

YOU ARE GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

SLEEP ON, AND TAKE YOUR REST.

TRULY, WE ALL LOVED YOU,

BUT GOD LOVED YOU BEST.


TO MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS, GOD IS WITH YOU EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. ONE LOVE BASA FAMILY.

The poems are lovely and uplifting. Especially since I am grieving for a real close friend of mine who will be funeralize on tomorrow. Thanks!

Here my young brother…. Join the BASA
It’s a lot of fun and a lot of joking
Just don’t stand in the box and start to choke’n
On the mound you will see plenty of tricks
Watch out for that guy they call the Matrix
Be yourself and do your thing
If you win it all you will have a World Ring

Instead and hanging on the corner and in the streets
In the BASA there’s some beautiful people to meet
As a young black man
Are you be willing to take a stand
Get out of the streets and take that gun out yo hand.
In the streets there is nothing but trouble
My young broth’a come out that bubble
Life is so much more then then just hanging out
Let God use you and erase all your doubt
