Player Profiles, Board Favoritism, Nicknames, etc.
Just wanted to shed some light on some of the issues that have popped up regarding the website/message board.
First, the Player Profiles. The criteria for player profiles are listed below.
1. There must be a request for the player to be interviewed through email(see mailbox to the left), not through an anonymous post on the message board. If you prefer to post your request on the message board, then you must sign your real name.
2. There should be something about the player interview that would hold the interest of the average message board reader. There is no interview that is going to interest everyone, but we are trying to make the website at least a once a week stop for everyone on the circuit.
3. We can only do 1 interview per week and someone has already done the math that we cannot possibly interview everyone this year, but this wil be an ongoing thing for years to come. That being said, there will be some repeat interviews before some people get interviewed, because the BASA fans do drive the content of the site.
4. In no instance will we allow players that have been interviewed to be talked about negatively on the message board and this has not been an issue as of yet.
Secondly, Favoritism.
1. There have been a few posts regarding certain board members seem to get favoritism regarding posts being deleted. This could not be farther from the truth. The message board rules have been posted on several occasions and some just choose to ignore them and after a few warnings they have been banned.
2. Got a few emails about Church On a Tuesday being put on a sticky yesterday. Well, like the above post stated, this site is for the enjoyment/entertainment of the players of BASA. Church on a Tuesday has been running for a few weeks now and it has attracted it's own following. It is one of the most read posts every week. Tito will tell you that he was the first person banned on the website, but since that time he has become almost the face of the message board and in the words of some fellow BASA players, keeps the board "Crunk"
3. If you have a novel idea for the website/message board and will put the time in to make it a continuous venture, we gladly look forward to working with one and all.
Thirdly Nicknames
1. Many of you choose to use nicknames instead of your real name or name that you are known on the circuit as. This is perfectly fine. However, you cannot post pretending to be someone else or use a nickname that they have come to be known as on the message board. However, names like Player, Curious, Fan, Want To Know etc., can be used by anyone at anytime.
2. Do not start a topic and if you get no responses, change your nickname to keep the topic going. Remember, we know who you are and though these type posts will not get you banned, the post will be deleted. If no one other than yourself is posting on the subject, then that usually means there is no interest in the subject.
3. In no circumstance will BASA reveal your identity or place of employment to another board member.
