WORD ON THE STREET IS GRAYSTONE HAS TO MOVE UP IN USSSA NEXT YEAR.HOW DOES THAT EFFECT THEM IN THE BASA? SHOULD THEY BE ALLOW TO PLAY SUPER REC IN THE BASA AND HAVE TO PLAY MAJOR IN THE BLACK USSSA CIRCUIT?HOLLA BACK
the rules say they have to move up in blk usssa because they won. they finished second in basa....what does their rule book say? can someone reference something out of a basa rulebook? they have allows followed usssa rules....so only bbq should be moved up.
Why should they, nobody else that won in the last 2yrs moved up. (Perry's/New name Kirbys)-(Powerhouse/New name BBQ and he built a better team). Now G-Stone and whatever they chose to name themselves. Much props to G-Stone.
Who cares what they do in the USSSA? The point is that the BASA is a seperate organization with their own rules, they don't need to piggyback off of what they do or decide to do in the Black USSSA. Besides, Black USSSA isn't real big in the midwest so Graystone probably only plays 1 or 2 USSSA tourneys a year anyway including their world. If USSSA moving them up to the major division is going to determine whether they can stay in the super rec division in BASA, if I were them I just wouldn't play Black USSSA in 2006. They played about 7 or 8 BASA tourneys as opposed to 2 black USSSA tourneys in 2005, its obvious which circuit they care about the most.
wolf that always seems to have been the unwritten rule....but is that documented somewhere? basa staff...is this correct. hopefully you are still monitoring the board at this time.
It was first enforced against "Supreme Explosion" '95 and '96....we moved in '97.....And Class Act '98-99 and Raggdoll 02-03....so the rule has been around...But it doesn't matter....Just step your GAME up....."CHURCH"
word on the street is that graystone has some haters out there and one of them is 411 stop hating and step your game up like they did.they must have beaten you guys or send you guys home, they do not have to move up. good luck to all of the basa teams in 06 peace out
Even though BASA is a separate organization, they do consider USSSA classifications when determining a team's eligibility. For example, if you are a major player (which is a USSSA list) you can't play Super Rec. And in the recent past they have not allowed Pace players to play Super Rec because of their USSSA classification. So while the back to back win rule is in effect, there are other rules!
if you look up the major players list on usssa, all of those guys are white. no pace players are on that list. now if you are referring to them playing in the major division under black usssa then that is something different. none the less, it is a judgement call. if it were in a rule book then it would be pretty easy to determine. graystone is not pace....pace has shown their dominance for a decade or more. graystone will be a second year team in 2006. they haven't won any worlds on the basa circuit and could possibly be bumped up.....that's crazy!
I agree with player, Graystone hasn't won anything other than a couple of tourneys on the BASA circuit, and last I saw they played in about 9 or 10 BASA tourneys in 05. Point is, they can be beat and they have been beat, I'd leave them where they are especially since they are patronizing everyones tournament. Teams typically measure where they are by playing against the so called best, if you move them up, that would mean you wouldn't see them until the world which would be a shame and you would loose a very good measuring stick in the process.
