My Bretheren,
Many of us, (myself included) take life for granted, and do not always appreciate this gift. We tend to overlook what at first glance may be ordinary experiences but have a deeper meaning below the surface.
Remember the wonder and awe we may have had as children when discovering something new? If we can keep the same attitude we had as children, combined with a sincere desire to acquire wisdom, we will have moments of attunement during everyday activities. I call this being "In The Flow". ( I have always made up my own expressions to describe things). Some examples : When watching a sunset, you become lost in the moment and feel a sense of connection and love. For someone who plays sports, say , while playing baseball, you " Know you will have a homerun before you hit the ball and you are in the process of swinging the bat". These moments can come at any time and during "Any" activity. The paradox is that if you try to have these moments you will fail. It is in the perfect balance in between trying too hard and trying too little that these moments occur. That is why it is important to be able to relax and experience the moment with the same wide eyed wonder as children. I wish you all success with being "In The Flow".
Love to all.
Gary
For the first time in many years I can honestly say I wake up in the morning with joy and gratitude. I am doing something I chose; something I wanted to do badly and thought was unobtainible. The complexity of the machines with a myriad of knobs and levers only delight me: I am gradually learning to be THEIR master!
Alas I can put down no roots: as soon as I master this it will be time to graduate from school and start all over on a job. There in nothing more useless then the student with perfect attendence and straight A average who must define himself in the vary environment that is only a wayward station to success.
Quite apart from counting the years untill retirement I try to enjoy each day as being very special. I wont have that many more decades to use the skills and knowledge I have learned. If only I knew back then what I know now .....
Being "In the flow" is all about awareness. What I call the joy of the moment. It is always nice to savor the NOW and the present perceptions to the fullest. This is enjoying and living life to the fullest. Many people tend to live a "dream" life. They never wake up to reality. They are more or less like robots. Think! Sometimes you at times tend to go through a lane or even be in the midst of people without being really AWARE! If one is asked about perceptions of certain characters in that gathering or a landmark on the lane, one may find it difficult to remember. This is so, because you must have being possibly absorbed in your own thoughts and missed the moment.
It is when one really become aware of the joys, lessons, trials, travails of the moment that I consider that you can experience more and be "In the flow".
