Mistreated motorcyclists

This is a note describing what Freemont California has to say to bikers:

MY WIFE and I, out for a motorcycle ride on July 22, decided to stop in the historic Niles district in Fremont to shop and visit eating and drinking establishments.

When we arrived, we were pulled over by a Fremont motorcycle cop who stated he stopped us because he believed we were wearing unapproved helmets.
He was rude, made threats, and violated our Fourth Amendment rights. In addition, he suggested that we go to a pornography/drug paraphernalia store in Niles to purchase what he felt were approved helmets.
If he felt our helmets were not approved, he could have written me a ticket and sent us on our way. Instead, my wife and I were treated like criminals and told that if we didn't do what he said, our two-week-old, $22,000 motorcycle would be impounded.
While still in town, I saw him pull over three other motorcyclists for the same alleged violation.
As a result of this action, the city of Fremont can be assured that I will never set foot in Fremont to spend another dime as long as it continues to condone this treatment of motorcyclists.

In addition, I occasionally write for a major motorcycle publication and I will use the power of that and the Internet to be sure that my experience in Fremont will reach tens of thousands
who otherwise may have spent money in your city.
