Organisers and guests enjoy launch party ahead of Cookham Festival

Organisers of the upcoming Cookham Festival were joined by guests for a launch party ahead of the opening of the popular event this Friday (May 3).

The biennial Cookham Festival will see art, nature and creativity celebrated through a series of performances, exhibitions and workshops until Sunday, May 19.

Famous faces including Ross Kemp and Lorraine Kelly will also be sharing their life stories at the event.

The festival will feature more than 50 events spanning music, art workshops, spoken word, dance and comedy.

During the launch party on Thursday, April 25 attendees including the organisers, stars of the festival, local charities and the Royal Borough deputy mayor Simon Bond gathered at Cookham Dean Cricket Club to celebrate.

The party provided a chance to present cheques from last year’s event to an array of charities in the area.

This year’s recipients, who were presented cheques by James Copas from Copas Farms were Cookham.com, Concertini, Bourne End Junior Sports Club, Chatterbox, Thames Valley Adventure Playground, Child Bereavement UK, the Link Foundation and Wooden Spoon.
