Big news! Cookham Rescue Centre takes flight!
Mission Soaring!
While you may know us as Cookham Zoo, our core mission has always been animal rescue. Soaring ahead, we’re Cookham Rescue Centre, dedicated to rescuing exotic animals and endangered species breeding programs.
This wasn’t easy. We explored keeping educational visits alongside rescue efforts, but sometimes journeys require change.
This new chapter means closure to the public, but our mission to provide a safe haven for animals in need is stronger than ever. We may stay at this location or find a new dedicated home, but our commitment is unwavering.

Calling All Animal Lovers (16+)!
Do you love animals? Cookham Rescue Centre seeks volunteers (16+) for our animal care or maintenance team! We need help weekly/bi-weekly for 8 hours to make a difference.
Animal Care Volunteers: Work with keepers providing daily care, feeding, cleaning enclosures, enrichment activities, and lots of love!
Maintenance Volunteers: Lend a hand keeping our facilities in top shape! Help with cleaning, repairs, and groundskeeping to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our animals.
