Suppport,Bugs, Fixes, upates, patches,etc.

Will there ever be anymore updates and patches? Good money was paid for this program to start with and again with each update. There are many bugs in my program such as I'm now trying to enter a date in which an egg hatched and when I save it, poof it's gone, no matter what I do. I really like this program but I'm very disappointed with the last few years of basically nothing any longer. What about all of us who paid all this money for this program? I would have also loved to have had the pda program but I see it's no longer on the site....

Re: Suppport,Bugs, Fixes, upates, patches,etc.

Thank you for posting. We continue to work with users on fixing bugs that come up as PC's and other software gets upgraded. Due to a change in personnel, we had to rebuild our tech support service so some users have experienced unfortunate delays in the recent past.

The best way to get our attention is to fill out a tech support request at http://www.avimate.com/tsr.asp which will ask specific questions to help determine the nature of the problem. You can also send an e-mail directly to techsupport@buinc.com and explain the problem.

About the future. You clearly are a long-time AviMate user so I will be candid--it is problematic as to whether or not there will be significant feature upgrades at this point. As the investor and developer of AviMate, I have not yet recovered my initial investment in AviMate so a feature upgrade effort will require a persuasive business case.

Sincerely,
Alex Davidoff

Re: Suppport,Bugs, Fixes, upates, patches,etc.

I would also like to see an update that allows pairing of a male with multiple hens. I have various breeding set-ups including strict single pairings, but I also have set up where one male is paired with several females (primarily canaries). I cannot enter clutch records for more than one female in the latter set-up. This is frustrating as I can only enter chick records after the chicks have hatched by manually inputting new chick records and selecting the respective parents. This obviously bypasses the facility of reminding me when the chicks are due to hatch from which I can estimate when banding is due. I have already posted a similar request in the past and there was even a reply from Boundaries Unlimited, telling me that an update in this regard is due, but so far none has been forthcoming. There is also one major problem in manually-inputted chick records: I cannot enter band identification. It simply won't let me!! This is yet another feature which I would love to see included in the next version. Thanks.
