Banham Community Centre Bar Re-furbishment.
We have recently circulated a questionnaire around Banham to try and find out what people would like to see happen to the bar. Currently the bar is not producing sufficient income to pay the mortgage and we need to make changes if the bar and consequently the whole centre is not to close down. Just 7 responses (so far) from around 500 questionnaires circulated would suggest that there is not a lot of interst. A re-furbishment scheme has been proposed to try and make the bar more comfortable, but even with voluntary work it is likely to cost at least £5000. I think that a re-furbishment scheme might refresh interest and give the bar a new lease of life. Do people in the village wan't to keep the bar and community centre open? With the trend of pub closures are we fighting a lost cause? Is there enough interest to raise the necessary funds? |

Difficult one this, reckon a pub in the Banham is important? But don't know why people don't use it (me included). You imply that the whole centre would close down if there wasn't a bar, couldn't the bar just be open when you have events? |

Hello from Australia. If I was over there I would use it! Bit far to travel for a drink though.

You do the traveling and I'll do the buying! Believe you me it's not every day I offer to buy someone a drink... |
