Feeding Red Kites
It has been suggested that feeding the Red Kites that seem to be increasing in numbers over Cookham was bad unless the skin and fur were included as they needed this to build up their bones. The various kite trusts now say "Feeding them on scraps of meat is fine, but do not give them cooked meat. Meat with skin and bone is best - it's their natural road kill diet. "They have actually got quite disgusting habits, but they look magnificent."
