Maliks

Malik has contacted us to say that the post offering a 50% reduction at Easter was not from him, but seems to be a spoof by someone.

Re: Maliks

In which case, shame on the narrow minded cowards who posted the "50 percent weekend offer" - clearly with the sole intention of creating disruption at the restaurant and in the hope that Malik suffers financial losses.

How sad it is that such people exist.

Re: Maliks

All the more reason to delete now all of this Malik discussion forum. Probably plenty of people just writing anything to get a rise.
Enough now.

Re: Maliks

If this is true webmaster then you need to have a proper registration process and an email verification system, to try and prevent this type of abuse!

Re: Maliks

Unfortunately having a signing on system does not make any difference. Anyone can get a Hotmail account within seconds with totally made up information, so you have the same problem.

Re: Maliks

Just a thought...if Malik did not contact the Cookham Webmaster....who took the decision to take the thread down...and why? These things always run their course and it would have been wiser to leave well alone until interest, and the subject, faded away....

Re: Maliks

Perhaps.
However, whilst the thread "ran its course" who would have picked up the losses at Malik's Restaurant over the Easter weekend had the malicious scam not been pointed out?

Re: Maliks

There wouldn't have been any loss. Customers would be informed of the situation and normal pricing would have been applied or they could choose not to dine.

Re: Maliks

I'm sure that despite good reviews - this silly restaurant will go down hill. If you believe in what goes around comes around, Mr Malik is a fine candidate for this.

Re: Maliks

Observer - the so-called 'spoof' post arrived AFTER the thread had been removed by the web master... A public forum was censored.

Incidentally, I noticed your post on the other thread also trying to belittle and bury the debate.

If you find these threads dull - DON'T READ THEM!!

Re: Maliks

I too have experienced two evenings of horrfic service at Maliks; arriving at 8pm and not served food until 10.30pm, six of us squashed onto a table barely big enough for two, a one hour wait for a gin and tonic etc. etc. Worse still, our complaints were ignored, not even an offer to remove the service from our 300 pound bill. Eventually I wrote a letter to Malik which was completely ignored so I now use the Balcony in Maidenhead whose food I find equally good, their service and manners impeccable and their delivery service free!

Re: Maliks

We went to Malik's as a family (6 of us) on Easter Saturday and, unlike the writer above, we had the most wonderful experience. The food was excellent, presented hot and lots of it (I have 2 grown lads), very tasty assortment of curries and courteous and attentive service from his staff.
The restaurant was fulland just as well we booked a week in advance as hismanager was turning off street customers away. Again this was done extremely courteously wth no adverse reactions.

The bill, when it came, surprised us - for what we six adults devoured and drank - it worked out to a shade under £15 each - excellent return for our money for six replete and satisfied customers. The service was left off the bill and entirely to our discretion.

Thank you for a rewarding experience Mr Malik, we will most certainly return in the near future.

Re: Maliks

I thought you didn't have to pay a service charge if service is unsatisfactory - isn't it optional?

Re: Maliks

Maliks always sort me out a table at short notice late at night, Food good and even given drinks on the house.
Even when you have a beer or two they walk you to the door and say goodnight.
Malik has done well to make this a sucess and should not be put down.
