Sydney to UK 1975
I was on the march april 75 cruise to the UK it was a fantastic holiday for me, although I do remember my father being well annoyed with the captain as he reckoned he slowed the ship down before we got to each port thus some of the day trips could never happen due to lack of time we seemed to arrive usually about 3 oclock. The food was great as was the entertainment, the indoor pool was great fun when it was rough although it was never full. The cinema was good. Its a sad site to see the wreck and I must admit I felt slighty sick to see her in such a state and have been keeping my eye on this site for the last 4 years now.I think 2006 will be the last time we see her before she lies down for ever . If anyone remembers the Dymond family and the Day family please get intouch. Regards Stu Dymond |

Hi. I was on the August trip (I think), but Auckland to Southampton when I was 9. With me were my mum, sister and step-dad. I spent half the voyage in the cinema watching movies . I think "Flipper" and some space ship movie were my favourites. Oh, and I recall always having Spangles to see me through them. The ship called at Fiji, Acapulco, Fort Lauderdale, Vigo and Southampton. I think it continued on to holland after that. On the promendade deck they used to serve scalding holt tea...I badly burnt my legs and required medical attention after spilling a cuppa. I'm sure that there was a small fire onboard during that trip. Not sure though. Somewhere in my boxes of past lives I've got pics from the trop. Maybe I'll find them one day. |
