I have just written to EVERY member of the Louisiana legislature. Sent the following message. Hope it helps. Our battle in MI continues...and a victory in LA. would certainly help our cause. ___________________________________________________________ Hello Louisiana Legislator: As a Michigan biker, I had every intention of riding this summer in Louisiana without having to bring my cumbersome helmet. I have learned there are some in the legislature who do not want this to happen. Apparently the dollars I planned to spend in Louisiana on an extended tour don't matter. As a result I WILL NOT RIDE IN LOUISIANA until the helmet rule is changed. Isn't it time Louisiana realizeS 33 states do not require helmets? I am a responsible 64 year old retired school teacher with 4 children and 9 grandchildren. I find it shocking that Louisiana would be part of the "nanny state mentality" that would dictate every aspect of our life. Please consider this vote a "last stop" for individual freedom and individual responsibility. I hope to visit Louisiana without a helmet...till then I will not ride in your fine state.
