Message:   As shocking as it may be to some, words almost fail me here. The shenanigans are outrageous.

Both stories note that an amendment was offered to “require House Speaker Rod Jetton to wear a helmet in the hallways of the Capitol the rest of the week”.

I scoured the Missouri website, but couldn’t find it. If anyone comes across this online, please let me know. They are treating bikers as a joke, and it isn’t funny.

Another thing that I found interesting, and what may be of use to others, is the fiscal note attached to the bill which can be found here:

http://tinyurl.com/6k4jnx

After all of the usual accounting gobbledy-gook it concludes:

Oversight assumes some people 21 and over could choose not to wear protective headgear as a result of this proposal. Accordingly, there may be an increase in injuries or the severity of injuries to motorcyclists not wearing protective headgear which may indirectly result in increased costs to the state. Oversight assumes no direct fiscal impact to state and local governments from the protective headgear exemption.
