Message:   Just to clear things up,

Some of you may remember a note I wrote below in which I complained that MRF had not immediately jumped on board with our efforts to build the war chest that will be required for BOLT to present the best case to defeat the California helmet law on constitutional grounds. So what I would like to do here is say that MRF has now done all that we asked the organization to do, which was (1) to send out to MRF's mailing lists Don Blancet's press release offering other SMRO's the opportunity to join with us in making history in California, and (2) publish an article in the MRF reports describing the Quigley v. CHP litigation, so those who would consider contributing to our war chest would understand clearly what it is that we are setting out to achieve.

We are grateful to MRF for joining with us in these two specific ways which we hope will have the effect of building our litigation war chest, and then perhaps also educating the brotherhood of bikers who fly the MRF flag on the constitutional bases for our litigation. It is hoped that our success in establishing that FMVSS 218 based helmet laws are unconstitutionally vague and incapable of being enforced constitutionally will in turn help the MRF in its efforts before Congress, and that it will also help MRF's member SMRO's to defeat FMVSS 218 based helmet laws such as those urged on the states by NTSB and Mary Peters. We hope that our success will also provide freedom fighters in every lid state nationally with the litigation template and constitutional precedent to overturn their helmet laws.
