Subject: Re: May is Motorcycle Awareness Month ... But Not for SUV Drivers

Hi Bruce,

I really look forward to your e-columns. I was especially interested in this one! I drive a Nissan X-terra and a Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 and would like to reply that SUV's do not kill bikers.... it is the incompetent drivers behind their wheels! As a driver, I have ALWAYS been a defensive driver, as a rider, I have become an even more defensive driver! I have noticed in recent years that drivers on average have become very aggressive and rude! I used to enjoy driving, now it is a task that has worked my last nerve by the time I get a mile down the road because of these ignoramuses on the road! I believe that the state hands out driver's licenses MUCH too freely and nowadays so many people do not have respect for the law anyway and drive without one! Then there are the drunks who continue to get behind the wheel with suspended liscenses....people just don't care about much more than themselves nowadays. It's a "ME first the rest can go to hell" culture! Maybe we can teach the next generation some manners and the fine art of politeness and putting others first and then we would see a turnaround in this horrible attitude and lifestyle that is tearing apart our country! I know my kids say "yes ma"am and No sir!"
