I can't thank you enough for this email. We've recieved 8 proclamations in the last 3 weeks for May Is Motorcycle Awareness Month, and I've tried to explain to every County and City Mayor that this is not about a photo-op....it's to get the attention of anyone driving a vehicle with 4 or more wheels. It's to let them know the we are OUT there and they need to hang up....stop putting their makeup on......put the newspaper down........slow down.....and look twice before pulling out. It's to let the driving public know that we have just as much right to the road as they do. It's to get the attention of the very immature teenage drivers who are more interested in trying to look cool for their friends than being safe. I would like to see banners hanging from every overpass......PSA's on every TV and radio station........and statements from local law enforcement showing their support for motorcyclists. I'd also like to see stiffer penalties for cagers who murder our brothers and sisters.
