Frank,
In this posting you state:
"These people make every motorcyclist look silly by making the false claim that helmet laws are unconstitutional. I certainly am not the one who first raised the issue of constitutionality."
And your only support for this is your previous post:
"BUT, in all other cases, such as treating motorcyclists different from drivers, the government must ONLY show that the law is "reasonably related" to a "legitimate" government interest. (See Wikipedia on "equal protection clause," or hundreds of other sources.)"
Which is BALONEY:
Neither the all-knowing editors of Wikipedia--or the judges of the United States Supreme Court, which last time I checked still carry a bit more weight--have EVER declared that the treatment of motorcyclists is exempt from the equal protection provisions of the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution.
If you can provide me the citation to any U.S. Supreme Court ruling that specifically states that the treatment of motorcyclists is exempt from the equal protection provisions of the 14th Amendment, I will donate $500.00 to whatever charity you name.
If you cannot, then please stop trying to shift the focus of this thread, which is that the media is misleading the public on motorcycling issues.
