Ms. Hodges,
The American public and its elected representatives, including Members of Congress, may be expected to assume that if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it is in fact a duck.
Even by your own account, there can be no question that Congresswoman Myrick must have perceived your statements in question as those of a motorcyclists' rights advocate. And in such a situation, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Motorcycle Riders Foundation, you are speaking for the the MRF regardless of whether you declare your affiliation.
As a Director of the MRF, you knew or should have known what your fiduciary obligation was in this context. And again by your own account ... not only did you fail to honor that obligation by placing your personal political agenda ahead of that of the MRF ... and not only did you publicly exhibit pride in having done so ... even now you show not the slightest modicum of regret or remorse for your inexcusably selfish and irresponsible act.
Ms. Hodges, you have made it clear to all that immigration reform is a higher priority for you than motorcyclists' issues. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. But that being the case, I suggest you affiliate with organizations comprised of like-minded individuals, and make your seat on the Board of Directors of the MRF available to candidates more motivated and likely to focus on the stated mission of that organization.
Ms. Hodges, Please Resign,
Bruce Arnold
