Coolant
Coolant - should it be green after topping up fluid resevoir - As I used halfords "summer grade" which is pink - this was mixed with other (older) coolant already in resevoir. The fluid is now bright green. thanks |

What colour was the old coolant? How much pink did you put in? Did you check the labels to be sure the new is compatible with the old? |

Old coolant was blue and very low level. So i must have put about a litre of pink in the resevoir. Done about 300 miles since and seems fine. It did look a bit suspicious being a bright and glowing green colour. Radioactive! Should I empty the system ? |

Sounds pretty! As long as the two are compatible & haven't formed a jelly you should be OK. Draining & complete replacement might be safer if in doubt. |

My old boy has bright green coolant!! as long as the hydro gravity thing reads correct and the liquid hasn't yelled I wouldn't worry. Or, take it into a small garage and ask for thier opinion, usually no cost involved. Wait for is next service and have the coolant changed then. (I take no responcibilty for any damage that may occur, the above is through my experience only) |
