Re: Wax - Oil

Thorough clean off underside.Pressure washer & scrubbing brush to remove mud etc
Allow to thoroughly dry - you are better doing this in hot weather rather than at this time of year.
Standing container in hot water (loosen top & don't get too hot to avoid a bang!)will help it to flow out.
Wire brush any areas where the last coat has come off if there is any surface rust or scale. You may want to consider painting any areas of bare metal before waxoiling.

Re: Wax - Oil

Whats the best way to wash the underside- i dont have a pressure washer.

I noticed my shell garage has an "chassis clean" option with their premium carwash - would this be enough or is it best to lay on my back and use a lance?

Re: Wax - Oil

Whatever is going to get it thoroughly clean. How you do that is up to your ingenuity.
No point applying waxoil to mud or flaking coatings.

Re: Wax - Oil

Hi just had a look around the door pillars; not the door...

I noticed they're starting to rust at the base at the point where the wheel arch begins...

If I were to replace this part of the body would it be a big task...

would anyone know of any good breakers who could supply second hand spares?

Re: Wax - Oil

If you can't weld then you will have to find a garage or mobile welder in your area to do the job.
As with most corrosion until you start clearing out the dead metal you won't know how big a piece you will need.
Search on the web - and look on other forums e.g www.lro.com - for specialist breakers.
