dam p38 diesel will not start when cold sos

hello folks i am back agian with a good one here
1995 p38 bmw diesel just spent 600 pounds getting it chiped and the normal hot start fix ;but over the last couple of mths when it was hot it will not start . so got the hot start kit of ebay works ok; but now in the mornings it will not start iven when i used to a jump pack then it will jump into life and run ok fine all day . but hte last 2 days it takes 5 mins to jump start and then when left for a hr or 2 its the same it will not start .is this down to the inline pump in the tank or worse the injector pump ' upon saying that i fitted a new rad and water pump the other day and when fitting the belt back on the arm u tension on gave a click as well may i have moved the timing on the diesel pump or somthing .as i know there is a nut behind the arm cover since i did this it got alot worse . or is it throwing me of the pump in the tank . any help with this please please .

If you are having to use a jump pack then start by thoroughly recharging the battery or replacing if old & kn@@@@@@d.
Low charge can be a cause of many odd RR events.
Don't expect the alternator to do this if the battery was flattened. They are not designed to do that. That bit from AC Delco, not just my opinion.
It is possible the fuel is draining back to the tank and this can be down to a number of things including faults in the pump & perforated pickup pipes. Can you get it pressure tested?

sorted it was the intank pump it was 3/4 blocked and had given up the ghost ; And i think when i have been towing with her this may be down to her over heating on hills ;; running to lean and the pump suffering ;; all done and runs sweet as u nut..

hello agian agian the car is running ok but in the mornings it will take a while to start and there is air in the clear fuel line agian there is no leaks i can see it runs ok all day but not first thing in the morning so where is the air coming from; pump was breaken but know there still is this air coming in ;
all seals seam ok under neath the tank one fitted back all ok so i am stuck on this one ;; reg,s mark

If you have air bubbles in the fuel line then you have an airleak.
And as it takes time in the morning then this leak is allowing fuel to drain back to the tank.
Any corrosion pinholes in the pipes?

hello there r no holes or leaks around any pipes
there mostly plastic or rubber but wot i have seen is
around two of the injectors r wet at the bottom with diesel not major but may be it there r seals i think around the injectors that can fail ; there r all tight and seam ok apart from this do u think it is down to the injectors ;; thanks regs mark

just also to say that is has been staring ok today

hello i replaced the diesel run back pipe as well now
on the back of the injector pump and is starting every day .. at last no more air bubbles #
